This blog is primarily for me to doodle on when I am bored or when I am particularly excited about a film or a live gig I saw.
I also think it is important to support local bands and promote some cinematic gems when I find one.
I am a writer, which is obviously a very vague description. But I do write and I do get paid for it, which makes me a writer. Though it isn’t the main part of my job. If you want to see some of my stuff, I direct you to the following blogs:
Just to name a few.
I have been a huge film fan since I was the tender age of 8 or 9. The thing is, I had a TV in my bedroom which resulted in me watching films I really should not have watched, including Hammer Horror, Clockwork Orange, Rosemary’s Baby and the like. But I loved it and I still do. Having wasted three years of my life studying film, I don’t think I am more enthusiastic about it than before, in fact, it made me realise that my strength lies in watching films, not actually making them. That’s cool with me.
Music has been a so and so thing with me. Was really into it until one day I started disliking all the new music and basically gave up. Bad idea. I was then led back to it by people who were really into their stuff and as a result, I discovered it again and realised that music doesn’t simply just come to you, sometimes, and that is especially the case with good music, you have to go out and seek it for yourself. And that is what I do and what I find myself doing in my spare time. I listen to new bands (new to me) and watch them live.
Knowing people who are in bands and who have been part of the Bristol music scene for years, I feel it is almost my duty to support them. These bands like Cassette Culture or Solo workers like Dan Tuesday are what makes music fun.
I will be reviewing the local bands as well as any other good bands whenever I have a spare hour or so.
Thanks for reading.
